The Chicago White Sox completed a sweep of the Houston Astros with a 7-3 win in Houston to clinch the AL Wild Card Series, their first postseason series victory since 2005. The White Sox scored big in the first inning and Chase Meidroth hit a three-run home run that helped put the game out of reach. Astros starter Hunter Brown lasted just 0.2 innings and allowed four runs as Houston’s night unraveled. Erick Fedde closed out the victory, later saying "I’m so glad they chose me with the ball and to give the team the win this whole fan base deserved." With the series sweep the White Sox advance to the American League Division Series and their upcoming games will move from Peacock to TBS and truTV for the remainder of the postseason coverage. Owner Jerry Reinsdorf joked he may convert to Catholicism after the win and said he received a letter from the Pope celebrating the milestone.
