Taylor Swift released The Life Of A Showgirl: The Encore, an expanded reissue of her 12th album that adds four new songs, "Patient Zero," "Cleveland!," "Pink Clouding," and "Babylon", which all dropped at midnight. Swift announced the Encore on Sept. 23, saying she and collaborators Max Martin and Shellback wrote the new material while in a Sweden studio as a thank-you after the original album set a modern sales record with 34 variants and the biggest first week in history. "Patient Zero" was teased as a single and arrives with a music video starring Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell that will premiere at the VMAs on Sunday, Sept. 27, where Swift will receive the Artist Director Honors. The Encore is Swift’s first new music since her June contribution to Toy Story 5, "I Knew It, I Knew You," and she framed the extra songs as born of gratitude for fans' support of The Life Of A Showgirl.
