Steel Ball Run anime opening released

comicsSep 23, 202623408

Steel Ball Run just got an official opening, SPIN by Kroi, which premiered creditless on September 24 ahead of Stage 2 beginning September 25. Fans are obsessing over the animation's horse running sequence and layered references, with many rewatching in slow motion to pick out tiny nods and saying the bass line and The Good The Bad & The Ugly guitar twang hooked them immediately. Viewers noticed specific character moments, calling out Hot Pants for causing stream lag during her reveal and complaining that Blackmore and Ringo only appear in a brief snippet. The release has turned into an emotional moment for longtime readers who never expected Steel Ball Run to be animated, with some viewers literally crying while pausing to study frames.

I always feel kind of conflicted because people overhype Steel Ball Run and make it sound like the second coming of Jesus, but I kinda actually do think it's that good. Like I'm annoyed how much people put it on a pedestal but I can't deny that it's an incredible adventure story by every metric.

i like the steel ball run intro taking a lil moment at the start to go "listen. listen. we know. we know. we promise we know how to animate how a horse runs"

Imagine how it must feel to be a Jojo fan before 2012, where the lasting international legacy for years prior was HFTF and Dio's WRYYYYYY/road roller special, now seeing us hit an adaptation of Steel Ball Run that has everyone losing their fuckin mind

i used to dream for times like this man... back in the "duwang scans are the only available scans of the last half of part 4" and "bad tl/scans of part 5" times...

It's been a mixed bag but all around I am over the moon that the series has skyrocketed over here.

I was watching part 1 and finally getting halfway through part 7 thinking that I might genuinely die before I ever see SBR animated

I think the biggest thing that's killing my excitement for Steel Ball Run is the big "Produced by Warner Bros. Japan" at the end considering recent events. I know they've been involved since the beginning of the anime's run but man I feel like I'm gonna awaken Dark Determination at some point.

Spin is a REALLY good OP I think, already really into it. The animation is gorgeous as usual I love the fucking The Good The Bad & The Ugly guitar twang making it in. Huge fan. 9/10 wish there was more Blackmore and Ringo in it than the tiny snippet we got LOL #jjba #steelballrun
