Blue Sky Art Show, theme 'Golden'

photographySep 19, 202644423,157

The Blue Sky Art Show is a weekly community event running the theme Golden, asking contributors to post work that captures golden light and tones. Today's gallery is heavy on landscape and nature photography, with many golden hour sunsets and sunrises, backlit seeds and flowers, and wildlife lit by warm light. Standouts include a Dahlia 'David Howard' with deep golden sunset colors against dark leaves, California golden poppies at Montaña De Oro State Park, and a barn swallow silhouetted in a golden sky; other posts show a bison in golden grasslands and bright flame scalecap mushrooms in Roztocze. Look for sunrise and sunset seascapes, forest paths bathed in morning light, and macro shots of backlit seeds and insects under the #Golden tag.

The beautiful #golden sunset colours of #Dahlia 'David Howard' contrast dramatically against its dark leaves. It is a recipient of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit for outstanding excellence, reliability, and good constitution #BlueskyArtShow #BloomScrolling #Autumn #Garden #Flowers

There are green velvety leaf like structures called bracts next to the stem that is out of shot.

Creeping Beauty This brown creeper flew into my yard. Had no idea what they looked like but guessed it by the way it moved. I find it quite #elegant with gorgeous markings. #BirdOfTheDay #BlueSkyArtShow #golden #ColorADay #GreenSat #SmallBirdSaturday #EastCoastKin #ECK #PhotographersUnited #birds

A gorgeous little brown creeper on a thick, lichen-covered branch going almost sideways across the frame. It has stunning markings in shades of dark brown and beige on the back and a light belly. The back and belly feathers are very fluffy. The curved beak and eyes are dark. The bird is upright and facing to the left. You can faintly make out the bird's powerful claw clutching the side of the branch. There are leaves in shades of gold, orange, and green blurred in the background with small bits of blue sky dotted throughout.

A close cousin found in Europe is called the Tree Creeper. Both common English names being descriptive of the family.

Beautiful and fabulous camouflage outfit.

My son rescued one that had hit our window. We put him in a shoe box & drove to the local rehab centre. On the way, the little bugger sized up the thumb hole and flew out. Pulled over and was able to catch him, put him back in box & got to rehaber. Good thing 2 - he had a concussion from the strike

One of my favorite photographs for #BlueSkyArtShow #golden #clouds #sunset #beach #seascape #sky #nature #Stunday #scape #ArtYear #Florida #photography #ECK

The sunset turns the sky golden with highlights of yellow and red on the clouds. The receding waves reflect the golden color of the sky and there’s a snowy egret walking along the shoreline.

I’ve decided I love dahlias. Mine surprised me this year.!

MauiPat1

I initially misread that as sepulchur....

🖕🏽DJT🖕🏽GOP🖕🏽SCOTUS🖕🏽NRA🖕🏽MUSK🏳️‍🌈1

Gorgeous. Are Dahlias easy to grow? Do they prefer sun, tolerate drought conditions? Every year I see everyone's beautiful photos and every year I say I'm going to get some and never do. Are they bulbs to plant in the fall, or better to start from seed or plants? Thanks!

Lovely color! Ours have been very late this summer and looking a bit stunted but found this beauty in the garden today.

This time it is a winter sunrise over Lake Ontario, for #BlueSkyArtShow. #golden #photography #sunrise #ECK

In the foreground the water of Lake Ontario is dark, with small waves moving towards the shore. The sun has not yet risen above the horizon but it has cast a golden glow across the sky. A bank of fluffy clouds on the right side of the image are highlighted by the sunlight.

Today's #BlueskyArtShow theme is #golden. What better way to celebrate it than with a post of my favorite snag. Golden hour along the northern coast of the Gulf of Mexico on the Florida Panhandle. I love this spot. #photography #landscape #ECK #sunrise #ocean #GulfOfMexico #nature #GoldenHour

#BlueskyArtShow #Golden California golden poppies and other wildflowers at Montaña De Oro State Park, California. #ECK #Hiking #CaliforniaPoppy #Photography #LandscapePhotography #Wildflowers #BloomScrolling #WestCoastKin #MontanaDeOro

California golden poppies grow in bunches on a long hill in Montaña De Oro State Park. The long hill occupies about two-thirds of the image. The upper third is a hazy mountain (Valencia Peak), pale blue sky, and one round white cloud positioned just above the peak of the mountain.

When the low sun transforms nature into pure gold. ✨ These little 'helicopter' seeds look absolutely magical in the backlight. #BlueSkyArtShow #golden #Stunday #MacroMonday #thelittlethings #photography #nature #ECK

A close-up of dried, light-brown maple seeds hanging from thin twigs. The photograph was taken against strong backlight, causing the seeds’ delicate, wing-like structures to glow golden and appear almost transparent. In the background, the surface of a river reflects the sunlight, creating a heavily blurred, sparkling bokeh of bright circles of light.

This is stunning, dear Rina! 😍 Have a great day 🤗🫶

Mother Nature's gorgeous chandeliers, all set against beautiful back light. Beautiful light (and Bokeh)! The neutral palette really brings out the light, the gold, & the background, imo. It's subtle brown high & low tones make the indescribable (counterbalancing) difference, I'm guessing.
