Forbes names Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos among richest Americans in 2026

Forbes released its 2026 list of the richest Americans, with Elon Musk ranked first for the fifth consecutive year at a net worth of $908 billion. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is second with $378 billion, and Google co-founder Larry Page is third with $278 billion. Forbes also shows Musk leading its Global Real-Time Billionaires list. The minimum net worth required to make the 2026 Forbes 400 rose to $4.4 billion, $600 million higher than 2025, leaving a record 590 U.S. billionaires too poor to make the list, up from 500 the prior year. The roster underscores widening concentration at the very top even as the bar to join the 400 climbed sharply compared with 2025.
