Apple TV launched Slow Horses season 6 with the opening episode Circle Of Life and simultaneously announced a sixth-season-era renewal, greenlighting an eighth season of the spy drama starring Sir Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb. Apple described the show as Emmy- and BAFTA Award-winning and said the six-episode eighth season will adapt Clown Town, the ninth novel in Mick Herron’s Slough House series. Apple’s creative director for International, Jay Hunt, said she was delighted that Jackson Lamb and his gang of misfits would return, and Apple previewed an explosive confrontation between Lamb and Diana Taverner tied to a botched blackmail that forces Lamb to unravel one of MI5’s darkest secrets. Early reviews of season 6’s premiere note the series is back on form with familiar faces returning and new characters making strong impressions. The renewal came on the eve of season 6’s premiere, guaranteeing at least two more full seasons and securing the Clown Town adaptation for Apple.
