Toho and director Takashi Yamazaki released a full IMAX trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero that teases the return of the three-headed King Ghidorah with a distinctive roar. The sequel, set two years after Yamazaki’s 2023 film Godzilla Minus One, reunites much of the original cast including Ryunosuke Kamiki as Kōichi, Minami Hamabe as Noriko, Sae Nagatani as Akiko, and Hidetaka Yoshioka as Kenji Noda, among others. Godzilla Minus One won an Academy Award for best visual effects, and Yamazaki’s follow-up continues the loose throughline from the earlier film, in which Godzilla’s remains began regenerating. The official synopsis says Japan has struggled to recover but faces a new, crushing threat with no third chance to survive. The film opens in Japan on November 3 and in North America on November 6, with an official world premiere scheduled this month at the New York Film Festival. Legendary Pictures’ Monsterverse sequel Godzilla x Kong Supernova is also planned for release in 2027, offering a broader timeline for fans of cinematic Godzilla projects.

It is wild seeing folks get upset Ghidorah is in Minus Zero because he's ~overdone~ It's been twelve years since he was in a non-anime movie! 22 if you go with the last Toho one! Hell if you want to go back to "the last straight up Godzilla v. Ghidorah movie" it's been AS LONG AS I'VE BEEN ALIVE.
