Mookie Betts hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning to lift the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 7-5 win over the Washington Nationals and complete a 6-0 season series sweep. The homer produced the Dodgers' 41st comeback victory of the year and came after Los Angeles erased a 4-1 deficit with rallies that included Tommy Edman’s RBI double and Will Smith’s RBI single. Justin Wrobleski made a spot start, striking out six through three scoreless innings before allowing four runs in the fourth and exiting after three-plus innings and eight hits. Bobby Miller made his first appearance for the Dodgers this season, recording three innings of relief while allowing one run, and Edgardo Henriquez closed out the game. The Nationals tied the MLB record for most blown saves in a single season with 37. The Dodgers remained ahead of the Atlanta Braves for the National League No. 2 seed and are 4-0 in games without Shohei Ohtani; manager Dave Roberts said Ohtani is unlikely to pitch in 2026 though he is expected to return to the lineup for the upcoming series in Cincinnati.
