BBC Laura Kuenssberg interviews Nigel Farage over foreign donor talks

Nigel Farage told the BBC's Laura Kuenssberg he "frankly wasn't listening" during a filmed conversation in which his former chief of staff Dan Jukes and ex-head of policy James Orr discussed routing money from a US donor to Reform UK. The Channel 4 News and Verbatim Investigations film suggested the donor would give 500,000 pounds via a UK-based son, a proposal that would conflict with electoral law requiring donors to be UK registered voters or UK-registered companies. Jukes and Orr have been removed from their roles and deny wrongdoing or say they will cooperate with Reform's internal inquiry. Farage said he is not a compliance officer, claimed he was canvassing at the Clacton by-election and that the two aides "should have done basic checks." He denied Reform ever accepted foreign money channelled through a UK donor and said his family are "begging" him to quit, though he has not considered standing down. The Metropolitan Police are assessing whether to open an investigation, and political opponents have demanded accountability. Farage also condemned masked "stop the boats" protesters who disrupted the Port of Dover.

Farage is not just "implicated", but up to his neck in corruption and sleaze. The danger is pretending that he's no different from all politicians. It's like comparing the most corrupt, violent gang leader in mafia-style organised crime... to petty shoplifters. #Farage #ukpolitics #bbclaurak
