GB News and TalkTV pushed climate denial during deadly heatwaves
It's astonishing that these disinformation machines are given a broadcasting license They are putting their viewers in danger, and they are putting us all in danger
GB News just keeps going, despite major losses year after year. That suggests that the losses are seen as a reasonable cost of spreading the far-right message. Ofcom has been less than helpful in prosecuting them.

It will take mass complaints to Ofcom for anything to be done. I have referred GB News to Ofcom and one of the reasons they give for not investigating is that they have not received enough complaints from the public. What we need is an organised protest.
JD Vance yesterday said he does God’s work and if that means it brings about the end of times, then so be it. GB News and Fox News and Trump and Farage are part of the same death cult. They’re not interested in staying alive and that’s what gives them energy. Act accordingly.
Regulatory capture is a BIG problem across all sectors. Regulatory inaction and prioritising the protection of businesses now trumps the needs of the people.
The best thing to do is not to watch GB News, because most of it’s about Trump anyway. GB news are biased! They support Nigel Farage and Donald Trump, which should be banned. Some American news channels are banning Trump from live broadcast. The same should be done for Farage.
Fox needs to go first...
"People die each year from vending machines falling on them, and coconuts hitting their heads. People die, unfortunately, that’s a reality of life, and things get hot." How GB News and Talk Radio presenters lost their cool offsetting their climate change denial www.theguardian.com/environment/...
And some, who have been hit on the head by falling coconuts, and survived, end up as journalists on gbnews 🤔
There is a slight difference between bad luck, carelessness and the knowing and avoidable destruction of life on earth for the sake of short term profit.
Why aren’t we doing anything to stop these vending machines and coconuts coming over in small boats then?
Perhaps we need to tell them that their climate change denial makes them comrades with Islamic fundamentalists.
Desperation is palpable. The climate, very inconveniently, persists in doing what climate sciences said it would.
I dunno, man, if vending machines kept falling on people with increasing frequency, I'd consider staying away from vending machines.
I like to think of GB News as less of a 'news' channel and more as a zoo, where all the idiotic, psychotic elements of society are kept. Feel free to dip in and have a look every now and again, but please, don't feed the exhibits.
1,114 bodies have been recovered and 3,916 people remain unaccounted for following the disastrous flood in Nepal caused by glacial collapse and attributed to climate change.
‘Psyops’, ‘Darwinism’ and ‘asinine snowflakery’: How GB News and Talk TV lost their cool in the heatwaves - What happened when record temperatures hit the TV stations that regularly deny the #climatecrisis? I took a look ... www.theguardian.com/environment/...
This makes it very plain that our national media regulator has no teeth whatsoever. Or has been corporately captured. One of the most important things for Burnham to address is the Tory padding out of Ofcom and the BBC board with highly partial rightwing ideologues.
The media's ability to deny planetary crises stems from the wrong terminology that describes them. We're not suffering from 'climate change,' we're experiencing ecological collapse - the destruction of Earth's inter-linked life-providing network of which we're a part - not alien outsiders.
Rather you than me. I can’t take that shit for more than 30 seconds.
And the pensioners lap it up and spout it out again and again. "We should be drilling our own oil and gas" and "Ed Milliband is a lunatic," "why do we have electric cars?" etc.
"I don’t think that’s a reason for us never to be allowed to take a flight again, or stop being allowed to eat meat,” said Julia Hartley-Brewer. I imagined her being carried through the air by a giant hungry raptor. Yes, some of us should be allowed to fly and eat meat.
This is quite the read. The very idea of having to sit down and watch this firehose of hysterical misinformation... shudder
This is a very good read.
