Ed Markey wins Massachusetts Democratic primary over Seth Moulton

Moulton became basically a rich people+DINO protest vote and Massachusetts just has a lot of both. I think really rich towns may have swung right from 2020 in this primary. but Markey absolutely crushed Moulton in the majority-minority cities where he struggled six years ago

I'm glad my old man senator won this primary race. The other guy ran an "old people should get out of politics" campaign but was wishy-washy on supporting trans folks. Not that it's the only factor probably, but come on dude. In MA? In 2026??

To note, I would've voted for Ed Markey too for a couple of reasons (& I know many 80-year-olds are vigorous mentally & physically). I'm just saying many people screeching about age seem to be rather...selective (I am not someone who particularly screeches about age unless the candidate is decrepit)

Markey was primaried by Rep. Seth Moulton, a moderate who leans right on defense issues but who labeled himself a progressive during this campaign. Massachusetts voters are too aware to buy that BS.

Seth Moulton claimed Sen. Ed Markey was too old at the age of 80 to run for reelection. Markey pointed out that Moulton has adopted centrist policies, while Massachusetts voters prefer progressive ones. Markey blew him out.

Although Patrick Roath did not succeed in the MA-08 primary, he vastly outperformed Stephen Lynch’s previous primary opponents. His run was not in vain, the young operatives running the campaign, and Roath himself, have bright futures. Thank you, Patrick! And the lion roared again in Ed Markey.
