Tiger Woods pleaded no contest Wednesday in a Florida court to a reduced reckless driving charge and a reduced charge for refusing a lawful urinalysis, avoiding jail time. The charges stem from a March 27 crash in which Woods, 50, clipped a pickup and his vehicle rolled over; neither driver reported injuries. Woods told police he looked down at his cellphone and was changing the radio station when the crash occurred, and he failed a field sobriety test; a breath test showed no alcohol, officers said he admitted taking "a few pills," and two hydrocodone pills were found in his pocket. Martin County prosecutors said toxicologists and medical records showed Woods had a pharmacological tolerance from prescribed hydrocodone, weakening the state’s ability to prove DUI and prompting a pretrial agreement. The court ordered Woods’s driver’s license suspended for five years, with the suspensions for both counts to be served concurrently, and imposed fines of $1,000 and $500 that his attorney said he would pay. Breaking the terms of the suspended sentences can trigger jail time. Woods attended the hearing with his partner Vanessa Trump and left without comment; he previously spent weeks at a rehab facility in Switzerland after the March arrest.

There was a kid in the town I grew up in. He was connected to a state politician. They kept letting him off for driving drunk until the day he finally killed someone in an accident while he was driving drunk. Tiger Woods is a danger to himself and the public at large at this point.
