Dolly Parton's Hollywood Walk of Fame Star Vandalized, Repaired
I can only imagine how awful a person someone must be to vandalize Dolly Parton's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame days after her death. I'm guessing if there were Flock camera footage of this, we'd see the vandal running away in a red cap. people.com/dolly-parton...
We so wanted to believe there was unanimous love and respect for Dolly Parton. But the rancid presence in the White House reminds us: we are never all the same. There will always be monsters among us.
The hate thrown at her by the MAGA anti-vaxxers was incredibly disturbing to read.
I’m guessing it’s a young, white, MAGA, misogynistic man.
Unfortunately, certain bad people have decided that, since she did not openly speak out about the Palestinian cause, she must be categorized as complicit in genocide. I've been encountering that twisted logic on social media. I'm guessing that someone like that was the vandal.
The hate that Trump has created will destroy us.
It's some MAGA cultist. She was pro everyone and some people can't fit that into their worldview.
I'm disgusted. I hope someone finds out who did this. I hope they're charged with vandalism. I hope they're publicly shamed. I hope they're forced to engage in communal acts of kindness towards those they seem to hate.
A question: what sort of person smashes a Star on the Walk of Fame in the 1st place, but, more significantly, just after the star has died? If we assume the person is mentally ill, why isn't s/he in a medical facility having treatment? Same with addicts. We shldn't take such incidents lightly.
Donald... you naughty little old git you.
#DollyParton was born and lived in the same state that founded the KKK—yet lived her life as a true ally, nay, an ✨accomplice✨ to Black people. When’s the last time you recall Black people grieving a blonde white lady, not to mention a proud country ass southerner, like we’ve wept for Auntie Dolly?
If Dolly’s country ass (complimentary) can be a damn ally, you can too.
Betty White comes close. She was an ally, too. Someone keep an eye on Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. If you haven't seen Lily use her wit to outsmart sexism, you should. Aunt Jane keeps getting arrested for a cause. We need allies like these.
Never. And more southern white women should follow her example. A lot have, but too many don't
She's just special. Best part? She showed us who you love and what color skin you have doesn't matter a bit. Just be a good person.
Dolly Parton interacted with and paid tribute to Black musical traditions and artists during the 1970s; such as covering soul music and infusing her album 'New Harvest' (1977) with heavy gospel and soul influences. Her poor background helped her understand that inequality and poverty are systemic.
She was truly special. In a world of Pamela Jo Bondis, be a Dolly.
