At LAcon V on Sunday, August 30, the Hugo Awards ceremony at the Anaheim Convention Center Arena and streamed online handed several major awards. Ronald D. Moore presented the Hugo for Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form to Murderbot: “All Systems Red,” credited to writers Paul Weitz and Chris Weitz and director Roseanne Liang, based on Martha Wells’s book and released on Apple TV. The Hugo for Best Dramatic Presentation, Long Form went to Sinners, screenplay and direction by Ryan Coogler, produced by Proximity Media and Warner Bros. Pictures. Ada Palmer received a Hugo for Inventing the Renaissance and delivered an acceptance line quoted as, “If cautionary tales worked, they’d have worked by now.” Best Game or Interactive Work was announced for expedition33, with Citizen Sleeper 2 noted among the nominees. The ceremony featured Ursula Vernon as emcee and included unexpected technical difficulties that led to extended audience entertainment between awards.

A point on your idea about finding THE RAVEN SCHOLAR as an ARC: I read it as a Hugo nom without having heard of it before, and it felt a bit light for the nom? I admit to also being one of the people put off by the Hunger Games setup

Ooh, finally someone who disliked Everlasting! I couldn't believe the ideology it was selling. I also didn't care for Raven Scholar (the humour didn't work for me at all, the tone felt disjointed in a way that was purposeful but not effective) so either of those winning would be meh for me.
