Everton owners decide not to sell Harrison Armstrong
BREAKING I have had it confirmed that Harrison Armstrong will STAY at Everton More across BBC Sport
'Good news Giulia Bould', you'll be named this morning!
This is thanks to the fans at Bournemouth yesterday.
At least now TFG and exec know that Everton fans wont take any BS and will not lie down. AK may as well leave - once trust is broken; it’s all over.
Fantastic news Giulia, it shows that when we are united and come together (manager, supporters, reporters, etc) that we can influence club decisions.
Today is a good day Giulia 🙌🏼
TFG and the board read the room wrong. The player clearly doesn't want to leave and the fans certainly don't want him to be sold and Moyes also wants him to stay. New contract with a salary reflecting his true worth.
🚨 Everton owners The Friedkin Group decide not to sell Harrison Armstrong. Nottingham Forest deal for 19yo reached advanced stage but after deliberations #EFC (including chairman Dan Friedkin personally) unanimously opted to keep midfielder @theathleticfc.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/athletic/754...
Fan Power won the day. The 1878s said that they would not do any more fan displays at games if the sale went through, plus there was absolute uproar from the fanbase. We understand players may need to be traded but this proposed sale sent a million wrong messages about the future ambitions of EFC.
This better be the last we hear of selling
The message from the away end at the Vitality Stadium was clear "Don't sell Armstrong", they sang on repeat Huge test coming for the Everton hierarchy over the next few days They cannot afford any false steps @theathleticfc.bsky.social
Selling Rooney Gordon Richy and probably Arteta was to keep the light on. Bill never had the financial clout and Moshiri money dried up because of sanctions. TFG have no excuse IMO. Angus said it last week.
What's this financial reality that you speak of? Didn't Kinnear tell us point blank only last week that these financial issues are behind us? Everton fans being price-gouged, lied to, mugged off and gaslit yet again.
It's really shite how the financial rules of the league incentivize selling academy players above all else. Seeing a player come all the way through the ranks and make an impact on the first team helps tie fans to the club. Breaking that is so short-sighted
In reality because of the rules of the premiership what we have now is virtually a closed shop if it was any other industry the CMA would be having a long hard look at it the way clubs out the big six have to deal with financial issues while the cartel 6 shrug has killed the game as a competition
What gaslighting? When selling Armstrong gets framed as a choice between the "emotion" (i.e. lack of objectivity or rationality) on the part of the 'emotional' fans, and a claimed "reality" owned by the smarter-than-you people at the club... Not buying that shitty narrative for a second.
Do though. We’d like him. Thanks, #nffc
This may well be the first big test for the Friedkin Group, the Harrison Armstrong bid. What they decide will tell us alot about their future intentions for Everton Football Club.
I keep saying it but the fact they’re even listening is a massive 🚩
Imagine the kopites selling that Rio lad to Fulham that’s the equivalent
No fucking wonder Moyes looks pissed off Nidaye and now Armstrong thats If the Armstrong as any legs thst is 😡
I'd say this is all about what Armstrong and his agent decide. If you don't want to play for Everton, you can go when we're able to get a replacement.
Seems an odd move and a low price if we have SCR headroom ?
Wait for the lot twist when Roma swoop in and take N’diaye for £50m.
🚨BREAKING! - Harrison Armstrong transfer from Everton to Forest appears OFF. Everton accepted a £35M and gave Armstrong permission to travel but Everton hierarchy have now pulled the plug with Fan reaction being a major factor (Source - The Telegraph)
Well done to the away fans 👏
Whoever agreed to the sale in the first place, be it Angus Kinnear, Nick Cox or whoever, needs to fall on their sword immediately. There’s no situation where it should have even been considered but once again, fan power has needed to do the job for these highly-paid executives
This is a start. But apologies and an explanation are needed to the fans, to Moyes and most importantly to Harrison himself. The end to this ridiculous saga needs to be a bumper new contract for him but you couldn’t blame him for thinking twice about signing it now.
Below is our statement on the Harrison Armstrong transfer speculation
Unfortunately not in the remit of the FAB but frankly the club are going to be aware of mass anger regardless.
It’s better to step in before an idiot makes a blunder than let them make one & take it up with them afterwards! They’ll drag you down to their level & beat you with experience! We’ve confirmed a bid received for Armstrong from a recently promoted team for peanuts. That’s enough to be going on 👎🏼
