#Birds #Warbler Alan H says the #BirdOfTheDay theme today is #RecentGardenBirds, most recent capture/s of a bird/s in your garden. For me , it was this juvenile Audubon's Yellow Rumped Warbler.

A Song Thrush perched upright on a diagonal branch, its long tail extending downward. The bird has warm brown upperparts and a pale cream breast densely marked with bold, dark spots. Its dark eye and pointed bill are sharply defined, while a slender twig and small green leaves partially cross its body. The background is filled with softly blurred green foliage and reddish berry clusters, creating a natural woodland setting.

A Great Crested Grebe swims from left to right across a calm, bluish-green water surface. A Little Egret fishing in a tidal pool in the early morning. The bird is right of centre of the shot, head facing left so its left side is showing. It is up to the water higher than its knees. It is a white heron with black legs and a slender black bill. It has two white plumes at the back of its head. The bird is striking the surface of the water so that its bill is obscured, droplets of water are all around the birds head. The water has a metallic blue colour and is perfectly still, giving a perfect reflection of the bird as a mirror image below it. There is a slight ripple behind the birds trailing leg

This image shows a juvenile phoebe perched on the wire of our garden fence. I'm pretty sure this is one of the brood of chicks the mother phoebe from the other day was watching over so carefully. It and its siblings seem to be hanging out in our yard for a while as they grow. The bird appears roughly in center of the image in the lower two thirds of the frame. It is facing left so that we have an excellent view of its profile. We can see lovely detail of its beautiful grey head, back, wing, and chest feathers, and its off-white belly. Its little black eye is bright and alert, while a small fledgling feather is still sticking out of the back of its head. The wire of the fence appears in the lower third of the frame, with a horizontal portion gently sloping down from left to right, and several vertical cross wires extending downward. The wire is in sharp focus immediately under the phoebe, but becomes somewhat blurred in the foreground and background. The image is finished by a pleasing black and dark green bokeh from distant trees.

A limpkin stands on a branch that curls across the bottom of the frame, first downwards, and then slightly upwards. It's back is turned but it is looking towards the left. The sun shines in lighting up the background and its back. Surroundings are all various shades of green foliage.
