Oneil Cruz crushed a two-run, game-tying home run off Dodgers reliever Kyle Hurt in the top of the eighth, knotting the Pittsburgh- Los Angeles score at 4-4. Statcast recorded the blast as a 424-foot projected distance with a 112.8 mph exit velocity and a 32.0 degree launch angle. Bryan Reynolds scored on the swing, and the play is listed as Cruz's 16th home run of the season. The play occurred with one out in the top of the eighth and came off a Hurt four-seam delivery. Statcast and game reports note the ball’s trajectory would have cleared the fences in 28 of 30 MLB parks. The homer erased a late Dodger lead and sent the game into a renewed late-inning contest.
