Leo Rivas hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th inning, scoring Randy Arozarena to lift the Seattle Mariners to a 6-5 win over the Chicago Cubs. Rivas’ line-drive single to center off Cubs reliever Ryan Zeferjahn came after Seattle placed the extra-innings runner Arozarena at third. Seranthony Domínguez was credited with the win and Ryan Zeferjahn took the loss. Chicago had led by three after the top of the first before the game went to extras. The victory opened Seattle’s homestand, and the club plans Kade Anderson to make his first MLB start in game two, first pitch scheduled for 4:15 PM Pacific time.
