Game Science released a surprise 15-minute in-engine gameplay trailer for Black Myth: Zhong Kui, giving the first extended look at the sequel’s combat and protagonist. The footage centers on fast swordplay with a crisp parry, elemental fire and lightning abilities, and a mid-boss beat where an ally joins the fight and control can switch. Viewers pointed out the work-in-progress capture looks almost photoreal, with some saying the fidelity is so high they would think it was fake if Wukong had not been shown previously. Fans also keyed on Zhong Kui’s bronze-skinned spirit-hunter identity and his large paintbrush-like weapon, and on the hint of cooperative mechanics layered onto the series’ action.
