Republican U.S. Rep. Randy Fine was caught on a Ring security camera Sunday walking onto an Ormond Beach porch, ringing the doorbell, opening a wall-mounted mailbox and flipping through individual letters while wearing campaign gear, according to TMZ and local reports. The video shows Fine did not remove or place anything inside the mailbox. The homeowner, watching remotely via the camera app, called Ormond Beach Police but declined to press charges, and federal authorities will not pursue charges, the Sun Sentinel reported. Fine’s office confirmed to TMZ that the person in the video was the congressman. Fine represents Florida’s District 6, which he won in a special election last year after Mike Waltz resigned to join the Trump administration, and he is facing a bitter GOP primary that includes far-right challenger Dan Bilzerian and others. The episode comes amid broader controversy over Fine’s past incendiary social posts about the Palestinian movement and New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, both cited in local coverage.

TBH, when I’m canvassing door to door I have occasionally (rarely) looked at mail in mailbox to verify if the voter on my list lives there. If address on house or box is unclear. I never OPEN a piece of mail, though. Did he open it?

Opening or tampering with someone else’s mailbox or mail without permission is generally a federal crime under United States law (18 U.S.C. § 1702 and § 1708), carrying penalties of up to five years in prison and heavy fines. Someone should report him.
