Vance is far more ideologically coherent than Trump and would likely be far more capable of long-term, irreparable institutional harm than Trump is. I understand that's a high bar, but Vance is the easily identifiable fascist Trump is not.

olive consumer16The challenge going forward is that there is no immediately visible redemption of the GOP. All their up-and-comers are from the extreme fringe. Individual segments of the party that cultivate that new blood are permeated with genuine extremists and more than a few arguable neo-Nazis.
