Bird of the Day, theme 'Strikeapose'

Bird of the Day is a daily community event with today s theme StrikeAPose, where participants share birds caught in particularly photogenic poses; the alternative theme is CirclesAndSpheres for shots with circular shapes. Submissions include perched and midair portraits and playful candid moments, from closeup modeling poses to birds framed by berries or the moon. Concrete examples in the gallery: a mallard drifting among water lilies with yellow spheres on a green pond, a roadrunner described as ready for its closeup with striking blue eye shadow, and a Griffon Vulture photographed flying beside the moon. Look for other entries such as a male Black throated Blue Warbler at a circular Oriole feeder, a ruby throated hummingbird midair beside red yucca pods, and a sulphur crested cockatoo greeting viewers from a gum tree; follow the hashtag #StrikeAPose to view or join.
