Phoebe Bridgers releases new album 'Lost Weekend'

Phoebe Bridgers released her third studio album Lost Weekend today, a 16-track, 52-minute record issued on Dead Oceans. The album includes songs such as "Lost Boys", "The Governor’s Waltz", "Haunted" and the punctuated title "Never Going Back!" and features guest appearances including mandolin from Chris Thile and two contributions from Justin Broadrick. Critics and outlets have begun publishing coverage, with Under the Radar calling it a rave and Slate running an essay that says the record re-invents Bridgers' relation to voice, mourning, fame, storytelling, and survival. Early reviews range from enthusiastic to mixed; one premature-evaluation piece praised Bridgers' songwriting while noting occasional muddled production.
