Nintendo and The Pokémon Company confirmed that Pokopia has sold more than 5 million copies on Nintendo Switch 2 since its March release, equal to about 21 percent of the console's 23.68 million install base, VideogamesChronicle reports. The life-sim spin-off is now the second-best-selling Switch 2 title with 5 million sales, behind Mario Kart World at 15 million and ahead of Donkey Kong Bananza at 4.78 million. Pokopia was mainly developed by Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force team, led by the directors of Dragon Quest Builders 2. The game was released as a Game Key Card, a physical card that redeems a digital download code. A free update and a paid expansion have already arrived, with a second expansion due in late 2026 and a third and final expansion scheduled for 2027. VGC called Pokopia “Pokémon’s best spin-off,” and Nintendo’s sales figures make it one of the best-selling Pokémon series spin-offs and a major commercial success for Koei Tecmo.
