Jayden Daniels sends cease-and-desist to LSU over use of his NIL and No. 5
LSU burning a dog bullet shield post on the Jayden Daniels thing does not bode well for the long season ahead. You gotta ration that stuff out, or get a second dog.
“Oh fuck, Justin Jefferson disowned us.” “Break out the corgi.” “But-“ “Break. Out. The. CORGI.”
Better get Juice working on those puppies today.
Juice will 100% be having puppies after (checks schedule) the Texas game MAYBE we get Murder Kroger'd tho
Lane Kiffin Adopt George Challenge
Jayden Daniels informs LSU it can no longer use his name, image and likeness, per ESPN. The Daniels family is "deeply disappointed and feels profoundly disrespected" that LSU gave Daniels' number to another player. He feels he's being treated differently than Joe Burrow.
The guy who won the ReliaQuest Bowl says of the guy who won the national championship?
Burrow had a 15-0 title run and won the Fiesta Bowl to boot. You won the reliaquest bowl and citrus bowl against two B1G West teams.
If this is triggering people in Louisiana today , these are your Senators 🤪
If you wanted to be treated the same as Joe Burrow, you probably should have accomplished as much as Joe Burrow. Running up your stats in games that were already over is not quite the same as going undefeated on the way to a national championship game. bsky.app/profile/grum...
Seems like you should be an All Time Great college QB to have your number retired.
Maybe he shouldn’t have had such a sloppy mud pie last year.
(Norman Rockwell meme) I think it's pretty reasonable for college football teams that have to distribute 100 uniform numbers between 105 players to avoid retiring single-digit numbers in all but the most extreme cases
well sure but is there perhaps a reason why that would be the case?
If I wanted this treatment I would have simply won a national championship or the Heisman.
But Caleb’s the bad guy because of the “Iceman” stuff.
Athletes can be the biggest babies sometimes.
Unless the school publicly announces the # is retired, it's not retired. Most guys are cool with their number being passed down as long as the guy getting their # balls out in it.
Good luck with that buddy
the jayden daniels situation reminds me that “retiring numbers” is one of the dumbest and most annoying practices in sports, especially football
penn state and notre dame, two programs who love to sniff their own farts when it comes to tradition, understand that the best way to honor a player’s legacy is to have a new player pick up the number and carry it forward. imagine if penn state had retired lavar arrington’s number. absurd!
okay but you have to recognize the historic impact of someone who led your team to the ReliaQuest Bowl (but did not play in it)
retire the jersey, hang it on a wall. Other people get to use the number though
an exhaustive list of people who should have had their number retired: 1) Jackie Robinson
My favorite number retirement ceremony ever was on Inside the NBA when they retired Kenny’s jersey on a clothes line.
Developing a take that numbers should be retired for the opposite reason. Were you the worst player to ever play your sport/position, congrats no one ever wants to wear your number again.
Said it when he ran for senate so I’ll say it again: I’m fine with number 34 being unretired at UGA
Jayden Daniels would like to privately work out his issues with LSU now that no one took his side.
The thing I made public has become personally embarrassing for me so it’s now needs to be a private matter post.
Him and his team are ridiculous.
As noted elsewhere, the guy left ASU in the most asshole-ish manner possible and somehow got the media + social media to treat *him* like the victim so I'm not surprised he thought that same dynamic would play out here.
LSU and Jayden Daniels are at odds over the issuance of No. 5 to CB DJ Pickett. Daniels has told the school to stop using his name, image, and likeness.
Daniels needs to get over himself. The number was not retired, there was no promise no one would never use it again at LSU. He does not own the number 5.
I am here for a dust up this petty.
I’m kind of glad to have a reason to root against Daniels.
This makes Jayden Daniels look bad.
