Trump signs executive order to reshape US childhood vaccine recommendations

scienceAug 10, 2026171,559

President Donald J. Trump signed an executive order titled "Gold Standard Childhood Vaccine Recommendations" that calls for revamping U.S. childhood vaccine guidance to maximize parental choice. The White House says the order urges spacing routine childhood immunizations into separate medical visits and directs that the combined measles, mumps and rubella vaccine be separated into three single-disease shots. The order cites an HHS January 2026 scientific assessment that compared U.S. childhood immunization recommendations with those of peer developed nations, analyzed vaccine uptake and public trust, and examined clinical and epidemiological evidence and knowledge gaps. The administration says the goal is to align three categories of childhood immunizations with that assessment and with practices from peer countries. The White House framed the changes as part of a broader effort to "ensure Americans are receiving the best medical advice in the world" and to "maximize parental choices over vaccinations for their children."

It's even worse... " All childhood immunizations should be administered at separate medical visits." -- imagine the added costs and hassle to families! --- www.whitehouse.gov/presidential...
