NYT: US weapons stockpiles depleted by Iran war
“Since the collapse of munitions stockpiles, it was revealed that the Pentagon’s policy chief Elbridge Colby has been tasked with drafting a new strategy that emphasises the use of tactical nuclear weapons in any war with China or Russia.”
An interesting approach as China and Russia also have these, unlike the conventional missile asymmetry with Iran and more traditional enemies.
Everyday you think it could not get more dystopian, the US happen.
Oh, yeah...that'll do the job. Good grief, what morons.
As per Putin’s alco-dog Medvedev, nuke them all!!! Tbh, I’m pretty shocked how quick the US burned through its kit.
Don't we look like fools starting a war with only nukes as a Plan B
Fucking hell (weary, not alarmed).
The idiots are in charge of the circus. Colby couldn't beat a NAFO fella; how is he going to draft a strategy? The real question is why did they waste our arsenal on a war no American wanted? Against an adversary we knew we didn't have enough munitions for.
Tactical nuclear weapons do not exist. Military planners and strategists want you to think that using low-yield nuclear devices on the battlefield won't result in instant escalation but they absolutely fucking will. They already know this as they spent millions gaming it out during the Cold War.
USA's convergence with the Russian system proceeds apace
If it makes you feel better, Strategy Cheese possibly has less effect on military policy than a book I wrote that has a story about my grandmother mistaking me for being gay.
The last two decades of US air defence procurement has been a complete waste. They continually aimed for defence against the most sophisticated threats resulting in interceptors costing $4.2M each. And now they are being stripped apart by a simple raid. defencetalks.com/us-patriot-m...
I hope they don't try to resurrect the Davey Crockett 😳 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davy_Cr...
putting that in a policy document then allows china and russia to think more luridly. fuckin strategy cheese
The thing about corruption is - it encourages more corruption, and pretty soon everything is corroded by that corruption.
I think if the president uses a nuclear weapon they should be [redacted] immediately by the secret service. I believe this for Truman too
Every administration does a review of US nuclear strategy. This time they're doing a "mini review" instead of a full NPR. We've known this since last year.
