Definitely says something about how far the surveillance state has come since THE DARK KNIGHT that Spider-Man builds Batman’s “no one man should have this power” system and it barely even merits a mention in BRAND NEW DAY.

Though I do appreciate the fantastical indulgence of it being a cop who has a problem with it.
Even Ned’s system (and app?) of tracking spider-man across the city using social media and CCTV and pushing to his wearable ect, is kinda handwaved away
I think it’s both symbolically important and a bit of a screenwriters’ crutch (not gonna rewrite my whole thread on it) but yeah wow Culture has Shifted on private and public tech surveillance. His AI assistant replacing Ned is also an interesting beat.
