The Atlanta Falcons signed All-Pro running back Bijan Robinson to a three-year extension worth up to $75 million, with $51 million guaranteed and a base value of $22.25 million per year, making him the highest-paid running back in NFL history, according to league sources. Robinson, 24, led the NFL with 2,298 all-purpose yards last season and has 5,648 yards from scrimmage over the past three years; only Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry have more rushing yards than his 3,910 in that span. The Falcons negotiated the deal for months, exercised Robinson’s fifth-year option earlier this year, and Robinson missed most of the first week of training camp during the holdout. Robinson said at minicamp that he is "really excited to help lead this team and the offense to great heights." Falcons coach Kevin Stefanski praised Robinson’s professionalism, versatility, and locker room impact. The contract follows Atlanta locking up wide receiver Drake London and tight end Kyle Pitts this offseason and comes after the team committed more than $290 million to core players this summer. Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell said Robinson’s deal will not hurt Jahmyr Gibbs’ extension talks with the Lions.
