Overall, I'd say that was a productive trade deadline for the Blue Jays. They checked all these items off their list: ✅ Picked up a controllable starter with upside in Soriano ✅ Maximized the return on Varsho (likely a departing free agent) ✅ Sold high on Hoffman

This trade reeks of desperation from brown. #Astros arrighetti has proved he can dominate for stretches but is still young and needs to hone his craft. Varsho is having an awful year at the plate and isn't an offensive upgrade over trammel in CF.
