Sigrid Ytterhus Haugset, the Norwegian national champion riding for Uno-X Mobility, won Stage 3 of the Tour de France Femmes after an approximately 88 km solo breakaway and took the yellow jersey. Haugset held off rivals including Marianne Vos's contemporaries and contenders such as Kopecky while teams including SD Worx-Protime and Lidl-Trek chased and sent riders like Riejanne Markus in response. Several posts note this is Haugset's first professional road victory outside of national championships and that the ride vaulted her roughly 45 places in the general classification. Commentators also linked the victory to a comeback narrative for Haugset, who recovered from a broken hip and wrist to win the Norwegian title and now the Tour stage. Haugset will wear the maillot jaune into the next stage of the race.
