Sigrid Ytterhus Haugset, the Norwegian national champion riding for Uno-X Mobility, won Stage 3 of the Tour de France Femmes after an approximately 88 km solo breakaway and took the yellow jersey. Haugset held off rivals including Marianne Vos's contemporaries and contenders such as Kopecky while teams including SD Worx-Protime and Lidl-Trek chased and sent riders like Riejanne Markus in response. Several posts note this is Haugset's first professional road victory outside of national championships and that the ride vaulted her roughly 45 places in the general classification. All the chasing was left to SD Worx-Protime; Lidl-Trek even sent Riejanne Markus on a solo move. Wiebes had no teammates left with 2 km to go, Markus still 12 seconds ahead. But some sprinters' teams couldn't resist and closed that gap - only to be smoked by Wiebes. #TDFF2026

You're not going to beat Wiebes in a sprint, whether she still has a lead-out or not. Wiebes is excellent at surfing wheels; she often had to do that at Parkhotel Valkenburg when her teammates were empty after chasing. She didn't like it, but she absolutely can do it. #TDFF2026

At that point when it is only Wiebes left, sprinters teams have absolutely zero reason not to pull. They are not racing to prevent Wiebes from winning, they are racing to try to win themselves. Wiebes herself is never going to pull, so if they don't pull they 100% lose.
