TCM's Noir Alley screened the 1947 film They Won't Believe Me tonight; host Eddie Muller announced the series will pause and not return until September. They Won't Believe Me, directed by Irving Pichel and starring Susan Hayward, Robert Young and Jane Greer, ran at 12:45 a.m. ET and has a 1 hour 20 minute runtime. The film follows a philandering playboy with a wealthy wife and two girlfriends who ends up on trial for murder when two of the women turn up dead. TCM notes the picture was shot on RKO soundstages and on location in California, including Mammoth Lakes and Crowley Lake. With Noir Alley on hiatus, regular late-night screenings and Muller’s continuing introductions will resume when the series returns in September.
