At the White House Correspondents' Dinner, CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer presented The Wall Street Journal with an award for last year’s reporting that published a lewd birthday poem and doodle from Donald Trump to Jeffrey Epstein. Blitzer told the audience that the Journal’s reporting prompted Trump to sue and that his lawsuit revealed a reporter’s home address, forcing her to move. The Journal’s story published other Trump doodles that are in the public record, even as Trump has continued to deny making the reported sketch. As Blitzer recounted those details onstage, the president sat listening and at times appeared to shrug and smile.
