Turner Classic Movies will air Billy Wilder’s Sunset Boulevard (1950), starring Gloria Swanson and William Holden, tonight at 8:00 PM Eastern as part of Eddie Muller’s Summer of Darkness film-noir festival. Muller, billed as the Czar of Noir, is hosting the festival’s Friday-night prime-time lineup across June and July, with a June 19 exception for a Juneteenth tribute. The 2026 festival draws largely from Muller’s “Endless Night: 25 Noir Films that Will Stand the Test of Time,” featuring 23 titles from that list plus two substitutes, and programs films roughly in chronological order to trace the genre’s development. After each prime-time selection Muller introduces late-night salutes to neo-noirs such as The Long Good Friday (1980), The Yakuza (1974) and Harper (1966).
