Dungeon Crawler Carl casts Jeff Hays as Princess Donut
I may have been a little obsessed with the third Dungeon Crawler Carl book this week...
It is remarkably easy to read! I started the Butchers Masquerade a couple days ago and I'm ~70% done.
Hey, there are way worse things you could be obsessed about. And of the first five books (all that have been translated to Spanish), the third is arguably the weakest, so get ready.
i hear this series is really good but the number of books and how big they are make me feel a little intimidated to start lol. everyone around me really likes it tho so i'm starting to want to try it!!!
I've been curious about this series for a long time. Hmm...
I started Dungeon Crawler Carl and it's fine and fun! It's not the worst thing i've ever read and it's not the greatest book ever written. It's a pretty good time and it borrows heavily from other sources 🤷🏼♀️
agreed, although they do get better as they go along
That's about how i felt and could see how it would get more interesting as the series progressed but wasn't committed enough for 7+ books 😅
I just started on book 2 - I enjoyed the first book quite a bit, so based on what everyone says, I'm psyched to continue! (I'm consuming it via audiobook, too, which is a treat!)
I am fascinated by all the discourse on both sides of DCC because I read the first book and it was fine and fun! And that was the only feeling I had about it!
I’m reading it and thinking, this is fine, but SVSS was maybe more fun?
Any of my friends on here reading @mattdinniman.bsky.social's Dungeon Crawler Carl books? I'm on the 2nd, and they're a hoot! Highly recommend. I suspect the RPG-lovers on here would really enjoy them. I'm picking up most of the references, but had to look up "buff." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeon...
I've been waiting for your review! I'm going to go for it!
welcome crawler! The audiobooks are amazing (a few things you miss out on if you aren't listening to them).
I've had SO much fun with these. Waiting eagerly for Book 9. And if you really want to treat yourself, check out the Soundbooth Theater audio books. Absolutely top shelf entertainment. soundbooththeater.com/series/dunge...
Matt and my friend Jill are mildly obsessed.
I genuinely don’t understand why dungeon crawler carl is doing so well. As far as I can tell it’s sword art online for quirky millennials, yet it’s consistently on the top seller lists. Are Disney adults having their isekai phase or something?
I realize I’m inoculated from isekaislop by reading office worker power fantasy manga and cultivation reincarnation manhua in middle school, but the fact actual adults are ranting and raving about a “LitRPG” baffles me
people are total morons with terrible taste. this mantra explains basically everything
