Olive Garden requires photo ID for Never-Ending Pasta Pass
I have never once been asked for ID in my many visits using an Olive Garden Pasta Pass.
Olive Garden is a circle of trust, when you are there, you are family. You wouldn’t ask for ID from family, would you?
These fuckheads excel at pissing on the feet of poorly educated people - who believe it is actually raining
You can get pasta without a driver’s license but good luck getting any sauce or breadsticks
maybe if you look like steve scalise you draw additional scrutiny
Once, at Olive Garden, when I asked for the 10th bowl of never ending pasta, they asked for my ID and requested I not return…
Is this some new weird talking point
Show me where in the U.S. Constitution it details your right to fly on an airplane or get unlimited pasta at Olive Garden. I will wait.
Dear @nytimes.com, I was just at an Olive Garden on Saturday and did not need to show my ID for my pasta dish. Come find me at a diner and you can quote me for a story. Thanks,
The Seconds Amendment guarantees unlimited breadsticks
This is to keep the "photo ID" as the focus, and not the Proof of Citizenship. Why do Dems keep taking the bait?
IMO, Scalise has always been a f*ckn 🤮 idiot!
I get the feeling that none of the GOP leaders were very convincing speakers in high school at debate club.
Also their proposals are for more than a " any photo ID", if I understand the SAVE act?
Actually, the Constitution DOES allow freedom to travel, and that we've been demanding ID to fly violates it. It's a practice that needs to stop, not metastasize into violating even more constitutional rights.
It has been driving me insane that I haven’t seen any Democrats point this out. (I hope I’ve just missed it.)
Show me the Olive Garden that requires an ID. These MAGA con men are reaching for the most ridiculous examples (most are BS) to restrict voting by folks opposed to their authoritarian, bigoted and corrupt agenda.
Scalise: "Anybody that gets on an airplane has to show a picture ID to vote. Nowadays, if you want to go to Olive Garden and get unlimited pasta, you gotta show a picture ID. This isn't complicated stuff."
1. Flying is an optional travel choice 2. VOTING is a right
What is he talking about? We vote on airplanes now?
There are more frauds in Trump's government than there is voters fraud. This isn't difficult
What fucking Olive Garden is he talking about? Is he talking about buying booze at the Olive Garden? They have to ask for ID by Law for Booze not for breadsticks
Which of these is a constitutional right? Difficult question for republicans to answer.
Oh shit, I need picture ID for bread sticks at Olive Garden?
what are we voting on in the airplane? wrong answers only
I have opinions about Steve Scalise that are perfectly legal to express but, unfortunately, the moderators of this website think are inappropriate. (One wonders what the point of the First Amendment is, these days)
Voting is a Constitutionally-protected *right,* dimbulb. Airplane rides and unlimited breadsticks aren’t.
You can have a perfect passport, birth certificate, and driver’s license, but none of them will absolutely prove you are who you say you are when they’ve already decided you’re not.
1. The bill does MUCH more than this, and you can't simply provide your ID under the SAVE ACT...This is BAD FAITH from Mr. Scalise 2. The bill also forces the states to turn over voter data to the Federal Government, & forces people registering to vote to provide birth certificates or a passport
Imma go the Olive Garden and try this…
And you need a picture ID to shop at grocery store, according to people who never shop at a grocery store.
How come there is NEVER anyone in the crowd yelling NO YOU DO NOT tile THATS A LIE when someone says something as fucking stupid as this? I’m not a big Olive Garden fan, but what the shit? Why are they catching a political stray for breadsticks?
If this is the comparison then I should be able to vote unlimited times also. 🤷♂️
You have to show ID to get Explosive Diarrhea?
You don't have to have intelligence experience to be Director of National Intelligence and you don't need a background check to work for ICE, but MAGA says we have to have photo ID to buy pasta at Olive Garden?
Another lie from the lying liars who lied like this: people.com/donald-trump...
Rules for thee-but not for me.
Their lights may be on but absolutely no one is home.
You don't even need i.d. to take a seat on the senate! Just be a 'sister ' of a dead one.
And you need no elective office experience to serve as SENATOR per the GOP, just be related to the deceased.
They seem to really latched on to Olive Garden's unlimited pasta deal for this bogus point. I wonder what Olive Garden has to say about that? 👀☕
If you pay $100, Olive Garden gives you a pass with your name on it to let you have endless pasta for 13 weeks. They ask for ID so you don't let everyone use the pass. When you vote, no one else can vote as you. It's a stupid analogy, and now they're making it sound like you're carded for penne.
Wait, is this what they want, that if I pay $100, I'll be able to vote multiple times?
It's tragic that you have to clarify the Olive Garden policy that this dickhead is spouting off about. It's even more tragic that these buffoons know so few people will look this up for themselves. The disdain they have for their base is truly sad-sad because it's so blatant but also disregarded.
Also air travel. It’s a business that makes its own policies. GOVERNMENT IS NOT A BUSINESS. IT IS A SERVICE FUNDED BY OUR TAXES! This idea that government should reflect private business is why our country is dying. Service doesn’t appease a limited group of shareholders. ALL VOTERS ARE EQUAL.
Furthermore, my Real ID works just fine for getting on a plane and for proving to Olive Garden that I am the one who is paying for the unlimited pasta. It also works almost everywhere else. Know where it doesn't work? Per the SAVE Act, it wouldn't work when I'm trying to vote.
Did I miss the paragraph about “free and fair pasta” in the constitution??? These idiot GOP analogies.
To be fair, republican voters are *that* stupid
We don’t have a constitutional right to unlimited pasta at Olive Garden. Hope that clears things up.
Also, they don’t card you at the pasta bar.
The whole comparison is dumb and inapplicable. We don’t need id to eat pasta. But also the SAVE Act would require id that many people don’t have or need for anything else (since most id does not meet the requirements). They’re just lying. Gishgallup all the way.
In my unlegal opinion, it's covered in the Preamble: "... promote the General Welfare". Nothing promotes the general welfare more than a second or third helping of pasta. In fact, it defines "the more perfect Union".
What’s a constitutional right, I’ve read about them but????
Sounds like we need an amendment
What if I was born on the OG's premises?
Pretty soon the Republicans will claim it’s communism to let people into Olive Garden without showing their IDs.
Clown show. There is nothing serious about any of them.
The better question is why the media lets them run with this fraudulent talking point.
Oh my god, my lasagna has never seen my face
Welcome to the Alfredo Revolution.
Where is Olive garden? Cowering somewhere? Trump donors? Why haven't they issued a statement to set the record straight, no photo ID is required for pasta? There are a lot of really stupid people out there that will believe Scalise.... It has to be hurting their business to allow the lies.
Gosh…just pure Bull Shit noise! Spaghetti hitting the Wall and falling off!
To be clear: what he's talking about is a limited-time "Pasta Pass" which Olive Garden sold allowing unlimited visits with unlimited pasta (& breadsticks) over a 3 month period, but which is nontransferrable. But there is no constitutional right to Fettuccine Alfredo. www.abc27.com/national/oli...
no constitutional right to pasta?
If we go the route of a constitutional convention, let’s put it on the list.
If Ben Franklin had written the Constitution I can guarantee there would be.
"picture id" is not acceptable under the "Save act".
