Bird of the Day, theme 'Gulls'

Bird of the Day is a daily community event; today's theme is Gulls with an alternate theme of Paridae. Gallery entries are mostly shore and seaside scenes and active gull behavior, including flying juveniles, adults at sunrise, and foraging interactions with herons and egrets. Look for a Ring-billed Gull watching sunrise over Colpoy's Bay, a post-splashdown Black-headed Gull emerging from a French pond, and a European Herring Gull resting on the rocky cliff at Praia da Mareta in Sagres, Portugal. Alternate Paridae posts include small tits and chickadees such as a Coal Tit, Marsh Tit, and a Black-capped Chickadee.

Freddie Fulmar is out on duty with the Flying Squad trying to cut down on the number of speeders, but he is struggling to cope with the growing task.
