David Head1Jones was that rare thing in government: council house upbringing, comprehensive-school, non-Oxbridge degrees, representing the area in which he grew up. West Country and a very good commmunicator, too. His departure is very disappointing.

another Starmer ally departure but someone who was really across the EU nerdery of the reset - and had a good relationship with his EU counterpart. Driving early summit would have suggested keeping NTS in place. I hope that Burnham keeps managing EU relations in the Cabinet Office

Rachel Reeves, David Lammy, Peter Kyle, Steve Reed, Darren Jones, Jo Stevens and Probably others all sacked from Cabinet by Burnham. Quite a few of them do not deserve to be treated like this & it’s clear he’s trying to erase anything that remains of Starmer. Saddened that this is happening.
Karen C Kaye Ⓥ3I agree, it’s odd watching it happening when Burnham wasn’t even voted in with a mandate by the public. I’m sure Burnham is a lovely guy, but it just doesn’t sit right with me. Starmer got the mandate with a huge majority and should’ve been allowed to see it through, it’s like the Tories in red.
