Salmon Bay FC win USL W League title on penalties

Salmon Bay FC defeated Vermont Green FC to win the 2026 USL W League championship, prevailing 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Salmon Bay took the lead through Manalili in the 78th minute and Vermont equalized in stoppage with Louisa Thomsen volleying in at 90+4. The match remained level through extra time, and Salmon Bay prevailed in the shootout when 16 year old Kaya Singh converted the decisive penalty. The final was played in Seattle at Interbay, adding Salmon Bay FC to the list of USL W League champions for 2026.

90+4' VERMONT SCORES!!!! After being totally outplayed most of the second half, Vermont throwing everything at the Salmon Bay goal. They get a corner. The ball knocked out then sent back in with a high arcing ball. Louisa Thomsen is there with an absolute banger of a volley into the top of the net.

If you've never been, Interbay is a remarkable setting. The nearly 30 years of history in that stadium includes fantastic SPU matches, D2 final fours, PCSL Seattle Hibernian for a while, Ballard FC, USL era Sounders Open Cup 02 R16 against SJE, & now Salmon Bay FC winning a W title. It's awesome.
