Social Security trust fund projected to run out earlier than expected

financeJul 18, 202630812

The annual Social Security Trustees report, released Tuesday, moved up the date when the Old-Age and Survivors Insurance Fund reserves are projected to run out by three months to the fourth quarter of 2032. At that point the fund would no longer be able to pay 100 percent of scheduled benefits and would have only enough to cover about 78 percent of payments if no legislative changes occur before then. The shift shortens the window for Congress to act and would force benefit cuts or other reforms unless lawmakers restore funding or change program rules.

Social Security starts running out of money in 6 yrs, as Republicans keep spending America into record debt. By the end of this term, Trump will be responsible for 35% of all US debt accumulated across 250 yrs. As Sen McCain said, Trump spends like a drunken sailor—mostly on himself and his cronies
