Harlan Crow maxed out donations to Senator John Fetterman

Billionaire Republican megadonor Harlan R. Crow gave the Federal Election Commission maximum of $7,000 to Sen. John Fetterman’s campaign on June 30, a new FEC filing shows. Crow, a Texas real estate magnate and former dual citizen of St. Kitts and Nevis, has drawn scrutiny after ProPublica reported he financed luxury travel for and purchased property from Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and paid tuition for Thomas’s grandnephew. In the Fetterman filing Crow listed his employer as the Trammell Crow Company and his occupation as real estate developer, differing from how he listed himself in earlier filings this year. The donation came less than a week before Fetterman and Republican Sen. Dave McCormick’s bipartisan joint fundraising committee Common Ground PA filed paperwork with the FEC. Fetterman, who campaigned as a progressive and endorsed Bernie Sanders in 2016, has shifted rightward on issues including Israel and immigration, producing complaints from former staffers and a reported decline in Democratic support in Pennsylvania. Crow has given sparingly to Democrats in past cycles, including Rep. Jimmy Panetta, Jared Golden, and Josh Gottheimer. The contribution renews scrutiny of Crow’s influence given his high-profile ties to Justice Thomas and Fetterman’s recent moves toward bipartisanship.

So John Fetterman is cashing checks from Harlan Crow now? The same Harlan Crow tied to Clarence Thomas’ luxury gifts. The same Harlan Crow known for collecting Nazi memorabilia. Tell me again how this is acceptable! #USDemocracy #Pinks apple.news/A_G6_I5HnTXe...
