International Nonbinary People's Day observed

cultureJul 15, 2026871,200

International Non-Binary People’s Day is observed each year on July 14. The day was first celebrated in 2012 and was started by Katje van Loon; the date was chosen because it falls precisely midway between International Men’s Day and International Women’s Day. Non-Binary Awareness Week begins on the Monday preceding July 14 and is an LGBTQ+ awareness period dedicated to non-binary people during Pride Month. This year users marked July 14 with greetings, resource posts, visibility posts, artwork, personal statements about identity and experiences of misgendering, and coordinating events such as a games showcase highlighting non-binary-coded titles. The observance is aimed at raising awareness and organizing around the issues faced by non-binary people worldwide.
