Wisconsin board finds probable cause Musk violated election bribery law
Good News!!! Elon Musk could face criminal charges in Wisconsin after a bipartisan elections panel determined that he likely violated state law by handing out $1 million checks to voters during the 2025 Wisconsin Supreme Court election.
The Wisconsin Elections Commission has referred two confidential complaints to the Brown County District Attorney, who now has 40 days to decide whether to pursue formal election bribery charges.
Elon committed fraud & bribery to interfere with the elections. Of all people, he should be at the top of the list to lose his US citizenship & get deported back to africa.
I'll believe it when I see it
GOOD! Send his ass to prison!
America has a huge "clean-up on aisle GOP" problem and I feel that it should be paid for by some of the MFs who caused it. In any case, we need to get moving on #NurembergUSA right away.
Join us in protest this weekend!
Wisconsin's election commission found probable cause that Elon Musk broke state law with his promise of $1 million to voters and referred the case for possible prosecution to the Brown County DA's office. www.cnn.com/2026/07/14/p...
The Brown County DA, David L. Lasee, is a Republican. And get this: Brown County has not hosted a contested DA election in more than two decades!! I established this as part of this 2024 research I did: boltsmag.org/wisconsin-20...
WHY is this coming up now. People cried foul when he did it and it happened anyway.
That thing everyone with a basic understanding of the law said was illegal...WAS ILLEGAL?! Color me shocked
If it turns out he broke the law, what sort of punishment are we looking here? Any chance of him doing time in a for-real jail?
Nothing will happen to Musk.
He's a shady dude that enjoys chaos. Musk is the type that will laugh in your face while stabbing you in the back the minute you walk away. The perfect words for him are manipulator and sociopath.
The most egregious act of electoral fraud in American history. It was accompanied by numerous similar frauds, many of them legalized by the FEC, which largely just gave up enforcing campaign finance law after Citizens United and legalized nearly all coordination between PACs and campaigns.
More context. (And American fascism is at its core a campaign finance story.)
looking forward to the 6-3 SCOTUS decision saying that because money is speech, paying people for their votes is really just a form of persuasive conversation
Freeze his assets and send him to prison. And for the love of god, stop giving him taxpayer money!
The most egregious act of electoral fraud in American history SO FAR.
Deport his ass already imo
I the very fact that this patently illegal vote buying scheme was allowed to proceed by the authorities has played a role in Trump’s victory. The fact that Trump and his minions seem to have the power to bend the law at will made them look more powerful and therefore electorally appealing.
I’ll never forget thinking “wow, surely Biden’s DOJ will do something about this absurdly illegal thing” - followed by the DOJ never doing anything about said thing, and then Trump winning.
Didn’t they get away with this by admitting that there was no actual contest and the “winner” was a vetted Republican stooge?
If the world had any sense of self preservation they would use this or a billion other reasons to put him behind bars.... But no.
NEW: A bipartisan Wisconsin elections commission voted 5-1 to refer Elon Musk to prosecutors after finding probable cause he illegally offered $1 million to sway voters in the 2025 Wisconsin Supreme Court election. Wisconsin elections are not for sale.
It only took 2 years
Great. Now let’s cycle Discovery conversations going and look into the presidential 2024 election, before Thursdays address.
No fines. Must be prison.
Isn't it also illegal for those voters to have accepted money to vote?
So you've known this since it happened and are only doing something about it now? This is why people have lost confidence, accountability should have been a top priority, but instead elmo got to screw over the US even more creating Doge.
Probable cause is an understatement of epic proportions.
Thank you for speaking truth to power.
“Wisconsin elections are not for sale.” Elon Musk tested that proposition in public, days before the election. Late or not, a bipartisan referral to prosecutors is still welcome. Go Wisconsin!
At least one winner was a Republican operative, IIRC.
Elon Musk likely broke Wisconsin election law by offering $1 million to voters before last year's state Supreme Court election, a bipartisan panel has found, per CNN
Billionaire Elon Musk likely broke Wisconsin law when he handed out $1 million checks to voters in the 2025 state Supreme Court election The Wisconsin Brown County district attorney’s office, which can choose to bring criminal charges over violating the state law against election bribery.
These are small potato charges compared to everything else he’s done. But if this keeps him off starlink during the election season, good.
If that is true, now we will see if the rule of law & justice will be applied to this racist. I will not hold my breath!
Do it! Bring those charges, even if they get weaseled out of. Never know until someone tries.
They finally found some evidence of a major violations in Wisconsin elections, and it's with Republican megadonor Elon Musk. Wow. www.jsonline.com/story/news/p...
Why is this barely a story? Kinda seems like Kaul should press charges.
Love how it took them 15 months to "refer complaints" over the blatantly illegal thing Musk did in broad daylight. The fact they let him leave the state without arresting him back then is a glaring indictment of our entire legal system.
Elon Musk likely broke law with $1 million voter checks, Elections Commission says via @henry-redman.bsky.social wisconsinexaminer.com/briefs/elon-...
From the article: "The state’s election bribery statute makes it a crime to provide “anything of value” to induce a person to go to the polls. In Wisconsin, election bribery is a Class I felony, which is punishable by a maximum penalty of up to 3.5 years in prison, a fine of up to $10,000, or both."
Well, then. Time to bring back this classic.
Ain't no damn likely; he did.
obviously the only fair punishment is he should have to give one million dollars to every wisconsin voter
Soooo we’re ignoring the ponzy schemes too huh?????
