The Red Sox remained stuck in Chicago into Friday afternoon after multiple plane issues following Thursday's game against the White Sox, sources told the Boston Globe. The team finally took off around 3 p.m. Eastern and both clubs said Boston will still play the Mets in Friday night's series opener at Citi Field. Major League Baseball pushed first pitch back from 7:15 p.m. to 7:50 p.m. ET because of the travel delays. The Globe noted the club has won six straight games and 11 of 13, a run that began after an earlier travel problem when the team had trouble leaving Denver and landed in Boston around 5 a.m. on the day their homestand began.
