Five puffins stand in a circle on a rocky cliff with their backs to each other. These kinds of parties where they flock to meet mates are kind of awkward and they are struggling to make small talk.

Tuffs of green and reddish plants sprout here and there through the cracks in the rocks and a yellow moss grows in patches. Gives the birds a little something to comment on for idle conversation.

A little Ovenbird -- a warbler with an olive back and wings, white breast and belly streaked with dark brown, and an orange crown stripe lined with dark brown -- is standing facing right on a rough, gray slate rock. There are wood branches and a log behind and some green leaves of Wild Coffee. In the foreground and under the bird's feet are fallen brown and tan oak leaves, some of which are wet from the pond. It is a woodsy looking scene -- good habitat for this warbler.

Photograph taken last year at Kynance Cove in the far south of Cornwall. Quality isn't great but the seagull has something in its mouth so that's balances out the crapness, I believe.

Image shows a dull-sand beach with large dark coloured rocks and turquoise sea. It was a misty day so not the usual sparkling photograph many take of this gorgeous spot. Lovely for a swim though. Anyway, I digress. A white seagull with black-tipped wings swoops across the frame, captured at the moment it passes a large rock thus reverse-silhouetting (is that even a thing?) its open wings. It has something in its mouth but the photograph quality is too poor to zoom in and see what.
