Splatoon Raiders, single-player Spirhalite Islands mode detailed
Headed to San Diego Comic-Con? So are we! We’re thrilled to announce attendees will have the opportunity to get hands-on with #SplatoonRaiders & #NintendoSwitchSportsResort on Nintendo Switch 2 at SDCC. See you there for playful competition, single-player adventures, & FUN!
Nintendo always did have a really fun set up at San Diego. It wasn't in the main convention hall but at the next door Marriot Hotel, so there was space for tons of games and familys were playing and dancing along. ...also, got to be jelous over the crazy winding grato pool the hotel guests had. -_-
I need Switch Sports Resort to be good
Seita Inoue, the art director of the Splatoon series, tells players that they'll not only need to have played the first 3 titles to fully enjoy Splatoon Raiders, but also to have 100% completed Open Season on Gamecube to understand all of the references in the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 game.
... this is the only time in my life, and i suspect will REMAIN the only time in my life, that I have ever been immeadiately greatful I was gifted Open Season for gamecube as a child and No Other Games for Several Months.
the crazy thing is you also need to have completed the puzzle bobble collection and the 25th anniversary edition of puyo puyo to get all the references in the after credits scene
And I hear i thought the Xenoblade Chronicles lore was an interconnected mess spread across 3 consoles and just as many companies.
Do i need to have seen Barnyard, too?
Why is "raiders is just reused assets" from Splatoon players even a discussion? where was this discussion with Splatoon 2/3 reusing maps, weapons, inkling voice clips, subs weapons, specials, salmonids, etc? you can just say PvE Splatoon isn't for you and move the fuck on
haven't they literally redesigned every weapon too 😭 this is possibly the LEAST reused content we've had!
"reused assets" and theyre all brand new character models with brand new textures with brand new ink physics with brand new designs for even returning things
Drama for the sake of drama ngl
PvE Splatoon sounds pretty nice tbh
People being less tolerant to 'reused assets' when they theoretically SHOULD allow developers to get out fresh experiences quicker is one of my pet peeves in the gaming landscape tbh, Splatoon hypocrisy aside Like imagine having this discussion over Majora's Mask or Galaxy 2 back in the day
