FIFA confirmed Justin Bieber will co-headline an 11-minute, Super Bowl-style halftime show at the World Cup Final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium, joining Madonna, Shakira and BTS. The performance, curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, will also feature Afrobeats star Burna Boy, Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus of Staten Island (joining Coldplay) and appearances by some Muppets from Sesame Street. The halftime show will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which is raising $100 million to expand children’s access to education and soccer. Burna Boy is notable as one-half of this year’s official World Cup song “Dai Dai,” a collaboration led by Shakira that mixes Afrobeats and Latin rhythms and name‑checks countries and players competing at the tournament. Justin Bieber said he was grateful to be part of the Halftime Show and that it is already helping expand education access for children around the world.
