FIFA confirmed an 11-minute halftime performance on July 19 featuring Justin Bieber as a co-headliner alongside Madonna, Shakira and BTS for the 2026 World Cup Final, to be staged outside New York. Coldplay’s Chris Martin curated the Super Bowl-style show, which will also include Afrobeats star Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the PS22 Chorus, a Staten Island elementary school choir that previously worked with Coldplay. The performance will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which is raising $100 million to expand children’s access to education and soccer. Bieber said he was “grateful to be part of this Halftime Show” and that it is helping expand access to education for children worldwide. Burna Boy, who co-leads the tournament’s official song “Dai Dai” with Shakira, called representing Africa on the first-ever World Cup Final Halftime Show a “privilege and a responsibility.” The broadcast will also feature some Muppets from Sesame Street, including Kermit and Miss Piggy, and the halftime format marks a rare move for soccer, where such large-scale midgame shows are uncommon.
