Olav Kooij wins Tour de France Stage 5 in Pau

Olav Kooij (Decathlon-CMA CGM), a 24-year-old Tour debutant, won Stage 5 in Pau in the first true bunch sprint of this year’s race. Kooij navigated a chaotic finale in which a late crash disrupted several leadout trains and launched his sprint on the finishing straight, finishing clear of the field. Max Kanter (XDS-Astana) took second and Tim Merlier (Soudal-Quick Step) finished third. Although the peloton experienced splits behind the sprint, Torstein Træen (Uno-X Mobility) finished safely in the bunch and retained the overall lead. Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) and Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) crossed on the same time as the yellow jersey group.

A mask for the barber but not for him? 🧐 "You protect me, I won't protect you," may be a small step above, "everyone share plaguebreath and die," but it's not quite what I'm hoping for.

We are not tour de france winners but still ask our barbers to mask! We wear kn95's so they can easily take off the ear loops and hold the mask while they work around the ear.

100km to go Highlight of the last 15 minutes? A guy driving a quadbike in a field by the side of the road tried to pop a wheelie and lost his tricolour-waving mate off the back. The flag-waver was up pretty quickly but it looked a sore one.
