Marta Kostyuk defeated Jasmine Paolini 6-3, 6-2 in 1 hour and 8 minutes on Centre Court to reach her first Wimbledon semifinal. Kostyuk, ranked 13th in the world, broke Paolini in the fifth game of the first set and again early in the second, dominating with powerful forehand winners and a lethal down-the-line. The victory extends Kostyuk's run of form, she has lost only once in the past three months, and marks her second consecutive Grand Slam semifinal, following Roland-Garros. Paolini, Italy's number 1, had earlier recovered from a 6-0 opening-round loss to reach her first major quarterfinal in two years, but could not contain Kostyuk's pace. Kostyuk will face the winner of Linda Noskova versus Elise Mertens in the Wimbledon penultimate round.
