Coco Gauff came from a set down to defeat Jessica Pegula 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 on Centre Court and reach her first Wimbledon singles semifinal. The No. 7-seeded Gauff lost the opener before winning back-to-back sets to close out the all-American quarterfinal against No. 4 Pegula. Gauff is 22 years old and has struggled on grass in recent seasons but lifted her level late in the match to convert the comeback. With the victory Gauff will face the winner of Naomi Osaka (No. 14) versus Karolína Muchová (No. 10) in the Wimbledon semifinals. The win was noted in coverage as another example of Gauff’s resilience in Grand Slams and marks a major career milestone at SW19.
